    Warner Bros. Discovery is suing Midjourney over claims the AI startup “openly dispenses its mental property as if it have been its personal,” as reported earlier by The Hollywood Reporter. Within the lawsuit, Warner Bros. Discovery alleges that Midjourney generated “numerous” infringing photographs and movies of its copyrighted characters, together with Superman, Bugs Bunny, Scooby-Doo, and extra.

    Warner Bros. Discovery accuses Midjourney of reproducing, displaying, and distributing “unauthorized derivatives” of its mental property via its AI picture and video technology instruments. All through the lawsuit, Warner Bros. Discovery shares a number of examples of how Midjourney’s AI instruments appear to have generated photographs of copyrighted characters, like Marvel Girl, Tweety, the Energy Puff Ladies, and even Rick and Morty in response to prompts asking to see the characters in sure conditions.

    Moreover, Warner Bros. Uncover claims that Midjourney will generate infringing photographs even when prompts don’t point out a selected character.
