Although the trail-ready but fashion-forward kicks don’t launch till later this week, Gear Patrol received an unique sneak peek and an opportunity to talk with two key gamers: Hoka Senior Director of Collaborations Thomas Cykana and MAAP Chief Inventive Officer Misha Glisovic.

Story of a team-up
One notably cool component of this collab is how seemingly pure its genesis was. Whereas scouting retailer areas in Los Angeles, MAAP co-founder Jarrad Smith crossed paths with Cykana — and collectively they acknowledged that though Hoka and MAAP concentrate on completely different sports activities, they’ve a lot in widespread.
“Each our manufacturers are sort of disruptive within the house and bringing a brand new perspective to operating and biking,” explains Glisovic, “So it’s a really natural [partnership], which makes it extra enjoyable to work on, when there’s a shared ardour.”
