    Veterans of the second world warfare have been applauded as they arrived on the Remembrance Sunday service on the Cenotaph in Whitehall, earlier than being joined by royals and senior politicians to honour those that have died in battle.

    Starmer mentioned: “This Remembrance Sunday, we pause as a nation to honour all those that have served our nation. We replicate on the extraordinary braveness of our armed forces on the planet wars and subsequent conflicts, whose service secured the freedoms we cherish at the moment.”

    Reflecting on the eightieth anniversary of the second world warfare, Starmer spoke of “a technology who stood in opposition to tyranny and formed our future”.

    He added: “Such sacrifice deserves greater than silence, which is why this authorities stays dedicated to supporting veterans, their households and those that serve. At the moment, we keep in mind, and we renew our promise to uphold the values they fought for.”
